SCHWEGO® wett 6292

Wetting and dispersing additive for water-based and solvent borne coating systems

Chemical base:   Polymer in solvent mixture

Properties:   SCHWEGO wett 6292 is a polymeric wetting and dispersing additive universally suitable for water-based and solvent borne systems. It shortens milling time, as pigment agglomerates are ruptured and stabilised effectively. Hence, sedimentation and unmixing of the pigments, respectively floating or flooding during application are prevented. Colour strength of pigments improves, and the colour shade does not change after long storage time. SCHWEGO wett 6292 is compatible with most binder systems.

Applications:   SCHWEGO wett 6292 can be used to disperse inorganic, organic pigments and carbon black. It is especially suitable for the production of universal pastes and highly filled systems. Additionally, SCHWEGO wett 6292 can be used in solvent-free and UV-systems.

Technical data:
(Guide values)
  Appearance : clear, yellowish liquid
Density (ISO 2811-1) : 0,99 g/cm³
Flash point (ISO 1523) : > 100 °C
Non volatile content (ISO 3251) : 21 %
Solvent : glykolether

Processing:   Stir up before use. SCHWEGO wett 6292 should be added at the beginning of the production. The dosage for inorganic pigments is 1.0 – 5.0 %, for organic pigments 10.0 – 30.0 % and for carbon blacks 50.0 % or more, depending on type of pigment.

Storage:   Do not store SCHWEGO wett 6292 at temperatures below 0° C and above 25 °C. Stir it up before use. Keep it in a cool, well-ventilated place. If SCHWEGO wett 6292 is stored below room temperature, some cloudiness may appear. This is reversible by heating or stirring up the product and has no influence on product quality.

Subject to appropriate storage, the described properties of SCHWEGO wett 6292 remain stable for at least 1 ½ years, provided the original container is closed after use.

Packaging:   50/175 kg drum
