SCHWEGO® wett 6290

Wetting and dispersing additive for water-based coating systems

Chemical base:   Polymer in solvent mixture

Properties:   SCHWEGO wett 6290 is a polymeric dispersing additive, with great affinity to pigment surfaces. Thus, primary particles are stabilised in an effective way and their milling time is reduced. Pigments, which tend to settle during storage, can be stirred up easily. The colour strength of the pigments is improved. Colour changes and flooding of pigments do not occur.

Applications:   SCHWEGO wett 6290 is used to disperse all kinds of inorganic and organic pigments in water-based coating systems. SCHWEGO wett 6290 is particularly appropriate for universal pastes or pigments pastes based on glycol. Additionally it is recommended for solvent-free and UV-systems.

Technical data:
(Guide values)
Appearance : clear to slightly turbid, light yellowish liquid
Density (ISO 2811-1) : 1,00 g/cm³
Flash point (ISO 1523) : > 100 °C
Non volatile content (ISO 3251): 40 %
Solvent : glykolether

Processing:   It is necessary to add SCHWEGO wett 6290 at the beginning of the production to obtain an optimal result. The dosage for inorganic is 2.0 - 8.0 %, for organic pigments 10.0 – 65.0 %, depending on type of pigment and calculated on total system.

Storage:   Stir SCHWEGO wett 6290 up before use. Keep it in a cool, well-ventilated place. Subject to appropriate storage, the described properties of SCHWEGO wett 6290 remains stable for at least 12 months, provided the original container is closed after use.
