SCHWEGO® foam 6345

Defoamer and deaerator for water-based coating systems, silicone free

Chemical base: Polymer in solvent mixture
Properties: SCHWEGO foam 6345 is an interfacially active product, which suppresses the inclusion of air and destroys air bubbles before the film dries. Cratering is thereby prevented. The film elasticity is greatly improved.
Applications:
SCHWEGO foam 6345 is suitable in most water-based systems and acts as defoamer, deaerator and to some extend as levelling additive. SCHWEGO foam 6345 is especially recommended in the following systems:
  • Alkyd / acrylic paints
  • Saturated polyesters
  • Epoxydes
  • UV coating systems
Technical data:
(Guide values)
Appearance : clear, yellow liquid
Density (ISO 2811-1) : 0,89 g/cm³
Flash point (ISO 1523) : 33°C
Active matter : 100 %
Processing: The dosage of SCHWEGO foam 6345 is 0.3 – 1.5 %, calculated on total formulation. The optimum quantity should be determined by laboratory experiments. SCHWEGO foam 6345 must be incorporated intensively and should therefore be added at the beginning of the production, also in pigmented systems. Post addition is possible, provided SCHWEGO foam 6345 is homogeneously distributed.
Storage:
Do not store SCHWEGO foam 6345 at temperatures below 5 °C. Stir it up before use. Keep it in a cool, well-ventilated place. At temperatures below 0 °C, it is possible that some contained ingredients crystallise. The product quality will not be influenced. By warming and stirring up, crystals will be rediluted.

Subject to appropriate storage, the described properties of SCHWEGO foam 6345 remains stable for at least 12 months, provided the original container is closed after use.
Packaging: 25/160 kg drum
