SCHWEGO® foam 8325

Defoamer for water-based coating systems, VOC- and silicone free

Chemical base: Combination of hydrocarbons
Properties: SCHWEGO foam 8325 is a liquid, very effective defoaming additive for emulsion paints. Particularly for those based on styrene/butadiene latex and acrylic copolymers. SCHWEGO foam 8325 is readily emulsifiable in water.
Applications: SCHWEGO foam 8325 can be used in emulsion paints, water-based coatings, silicate paints, adhesives and plasters.
Technical data:
(Guide values)
Appearance : light yellow, whitish cloudy liquid
Density (ISO 2811-1) : 0,86 g/cm³
Flash point (ISO 1523) : >100°C
Active matter : 100 %
Processing: SCHWEGO foam 8325 can be used as supplied or emulsified with 3-4 times the quantity of water. Depending on system it may be advantageous to add 2/3 of the defoamer quantity during the dispersion of the pigment and 1/3 to the emulsion, provided it is homogeneously distributed. The optimum dosage is 0.1 - 0.3 % SCHWEGO foam 8325, calculated on total system. The dosage may be increased up to 1.0 %. SCHWEGO foam 8325 is incorporated to the mill base. Thus, a good distribution is ensured and good defoaming is achieved when applied.
Storage: Do not store SCHWEGO foam 8325 at temperatures below 5 °C and above 30 °C. Stir it up befor use. Keep it in a cool, well-ventilated place. As the viscosity of the product increases at low temperatures it is recommended to store SCHWEGO foam 8325 at ambient temperature in order to simplify subsequent processing.
Subject to appropriate storage, the described properties of SCHWEGO foam 8325 remain stable for at least 18 month, provided the original container is closed after use.
Packaging: 50/180 kg drum· 850 kg container
