SCHWEGO® foam 8013

Defoamer for water-based coating systems, silicone free

Chemical base: Combination of hydrocarbons with emulsifying additives
Properties: SCHWEGO foam 8013 is easy to emulsify in water.
Applications: SCHWEGO foam 8013 is a highly effective defoamer suitable for water- based systems and adhesives especially for those based on polyurethane and acrylate.
Technical data:
(Guide values)
Appearance : light yellowish, milky, cloudy liquid
Density (ISO 2811-1) : 0,88 g/cm³
Flash point (ISO 1523) : >100°C
Active matter : 100 %
Processing: SCHWEGO foam 8013 can be mixed with pigments/fillers under high shear. Therefore, uniform distribution and good defoaming during subsequent processing is obtained.

SCHWEGO foam 8013 does not need to be diluted. However, it is recommendable to predilute the defoamer, if a fast dispersion is to be achieved and if the system is only to be stirred in a moderate way. Depending on system it may be advantageous to add 1/3 of the defoamer to the mill base and 2/3 to the let down provided a homogeneous distribution. The dosage is 0.1 - 0.3 % of SCHWEGO foam 8013, calculated on total formulation. If required the amount can be increased to 1.0 %.
Storage: Do not store SCHWEGO foam 8013 at temperatures below 5 °C and above 30 °C. Stir it up before use. Keep it in a cool, well-ventilated place. At low temperatures the viscosity may rise. It is reversible by warming and stirring. Subject to appropriate storage, the described properties of SCHWEGO foam 8013 are stable for at least 12 months, provided the original container is closed after use.
Packaging: 25 kg drum
